My name is Nikki. I am a design and branding consultant who loves collaborating with writers, artists, and creative entrepreneurs to solve design problems in a way that matches a client’s style and personality. My designs tend to have a touch of the handmade to them; I believe just because something is digital doesn’t mean it has to be cold. A brand for a person or business should have personality—I’ll help you communicate who you are to your potential customers.
My passion is working with other creative professionals to imbue their business collaterals (whether it’s a logo, a website, a business card, or something else) with the vision that makes their work unique. I love working with creatives to establish a beautiful and personable web presence, and equipping them with the tools to manage their site once it’s up and running. I also offer full graphic design services for small businesses.
Always seeking adventure, I seem to find myself somewhere new every chance I get. I graduated with my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking in 2007 from Memphis College of Art and after the completion of my MFA from Bowling Green State University in May 2011, I moved to Columbus, Ohio with my husband and dog, where I worked as a communications director and managing editor while developing my own business in my spare time.Since 2010 I have been the online editor for Black Ocean, and have recently taken on in-house design including typesetting for recent and forthcoming titles.
After the birth of my daughter in 2013, my family returned to our native Michigan and bought a home in Ferndale. I’m excited to settle in and explore the culture and creative community in Metro Detroit.
